Bio Poem Must Have- Freebie Till August!!!

I hope you LOVE< LOVE< LOVE this FREEBIE and I HOPE you FOLLOW< FOLLOW< FOLLOW ME!

Well, I don't have a linky to post this ... yet.  Until then, only my amazing followers will have the chance to snatch this freebie up!

 photo c823e5c9-f7db-47fc-8555-123a065ce95b.jpg

I love doing bio poems each year.  They are so much fun and easy once they get the formula down.  But, don't let that word formula think it's not creative writing.  They have to think of plenty of adjectives, places, spaces, infer character wishes and desires before writing a bio poem.

Here's what the unit includes and I'll make it a freebie until August.

(I have to say honestly, I thought I would always post free stuff on my blog, however, North Carolina is not a fan of Public School Teachers and it continues to get worse each year.  Now they are discussing taking master pay off FOREVER!  Of course if you have it you will be grandfathered in.  Me- well...
I decided to take a load of Environmental Education Courses (no pay raise)
and.... wait for it....

Yes, worked on my National Boards for three years (maximum time allowed before starting over)
And I will tell the world, came within 5... FIVE POINTs of pass, which is all you need for a 12% pay raise.  Hind sight is 20/20, I should have worked on my masters first... oh well.  But I have let all that go... I love what I do and have a blast doing it.  I can't understand why our state cannot invest more in children.  The result is seeing amazing teachers leave the classroom for higher paying jobs or leave the profession altogether.  Frown face :( I have confidence things will turn around for NC! I just hope it doesn't come at a greater cost of seeing it hit rock bottom first.  )  I say all that, to say this.  I try to sell my stuff super cheap so teachers can have what they want.  I know personally, as much as I love those $20 packets, I can't afford to buy them all the time.  Yes, this is my late night ramblings.

I'm sorry you had to read all that..... BACK TO THE FREEBIE!!!!

Here is an all inclusive unit for creating those amazing bio poems.  It includes lesson cards where you can guide your students through a lesson on the prefix bio and other prefixes and suffixes.
Also includes three different form styles you can choose from.
A sheet to guide your students through making a bio poem
Activities for how to incorporate bio poems in reading, writing, or social studies stations.
And YES a rubric for those difficult writing grades, it also helps students see what they are accountable for.
15 Great pages to use with your class
Four form choices
Lesson cards
Activity Cards
Examples from the NOVEL: Number the Stars (a protagonist and antagonist perspective)
I hope you enjoy and if you need any forms created to go with this set, please let me know and I will create them and add them to the bundle for YOU!

Here's the link again: http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Bio-Poem-Unit-Must-have-for-reading-and-writing-745669

I really hope you love this as much as I love teaching this unit.  Students can also use it all year with book projects or history figures.

Writer's Workshop Phase 1

Create New Writer's Offices

Check AND here's a freebie for you!  (PS... Please-oh-please-oh-please follow me!  I have great stuff to share all the time!)

I love MONDAY LINKY party with 4th Grade Frolics!!!!!

The first page has three options: Two different background colors and a blank...
WHY blank you ask...
I will tell you!
Because I like to buy beautiful stationary paper for a dollar or two and not burn up my color printer.

But YOU might have a color ink cartridge to burn up,
so print on baby,
print on!!!

Here's what they look like and the plan that ultimately goes on the back of the folder.  I laminate the writer's offices and allow the students to work their plans with a wipe off marker.  Also, I will include a picture of how they can work this plan into a regular sheet of notebook paper.  And wah-lah!  An instant writing plan for any paper!

Oh, and how could I forget.... Common core goals at the bottom of the page!!  Yah-baby, you know you like that!!!!

So here's the link and don't forget to follow my TPT store as well for freebies!

Nighty- night!!!

Amazing and Wonderful FREE Graphic Paper & Clip Art

HELLO EVERYONE!

I love thinking about school!  Even during the summer!

I have had school on my brain as I have been creating new items for my classroom.

I have also been taking baby steps on how to create all these amazing resources such as those famous blog guys and gals.

Here's what I have found to be AMAZING so far!

I get the cutest handwriting fonts at Fonts for Peas! kevinandamanda.com/fonts

The most amazing free fonts! It might take a little bit of research to upload fonts.  Like I said, I'm still new at all this.

Picture
Here are wonderful backgrounds and clip art for free! Amazing stuff people!!!  Read the terms of use!!!  She has amazing video tutorials as well.

backgrounds - images - clip art
My Cute Graphics has some of the BEST school, kid, life clip art for free! And a Commercial Use as well!

Also, don't forget to read the TERMS OF USE for each of these web pages, blogs, or TPT sales.  I think it is very bad to misuse these resources these people have worked so diligently to create for free. So don't abuse the privilege.  THANKS!

I hope if you are just beginning to create resources for your website, blog, TPT, or other stuff you might find some of these resources helpful.

AND- Don't forget, if you need a referral for Teachers Pay Teachers, you can grab my referral code in the upper left and I'd be happy to get you started!

Free Bulletin Board Set, Notable Quotables

I love Monday Made it with 4th Grade Frolics!!

Come and get it while it's HOT!

Here is an interactive way to get dead space in a hallway used and meaningful to students.

This Notable Quotable set gets students to think about real quotes from distinguished people, administration/ leadership, teachers, parents and EVEN other students!  It has coordinating questions for students to ponder as they are waiting for the bathroom, standing in lunch line, wherever you need to spice up the wall.  You can even have more responsible students in charge of updating the wall.  Students can be inspired when their favorite person is quoted on the board.  I can't wait to use this and I'd love to hear your feedback! 20 pages to toggle on a dull bulletin board.  Bright RED!!!  Sorry, still no clip art, however.... Parents, students (whoever maintains the board) can add pictures of the people represented on the NOTABLE QUOTABLE board!!!!
Have a GREAT WEEK!!!!!
I don't wanna sound cheesy, but I would love for you to FOLLOW ME
I have great FREEBIES and teaching ideas to share!!!!!
So PLEASE FOLLOW ME!!  Thanks-

Teachers Pay Teachers

Happy Monday Everyone!

I'm so excited it's officially the first day of summer!  The girls are napping after a long morning of swim lessons.  Whoooo hooo!  Here are a few of the things that excite me about the summer.

I am really enjoying getting a bunch of my teacher files on Teachers Pay Teachers.
Old and new, some for free and some for cheap.

I am really interested in all this digital design and I'm trying one new thing after another.

My blog will have a new makeover soon! (Totally not by me! HA, I messed this one up pretty bad!)

I get to visit with family and friends that live states away!!!  Here we come GA and FL!!!

My family gets to come visit us at the beach!

We get to take daily visits to the beach, pool, aquarium, and ....... nooooo classroom.

I've been looking at some of the most dedicated teachers and their classrooms, and I think to myself... Man I'm a slacker.  Not this year!  My classroom is going to be 'swell'.  No beach pun intended.

Well off we go... TPT...
IF you have your own ideas, create your own classroom materials, worksheets, activities, etc.  YOU need to sign up for TPT.  It is painless I promise.  What's even better than an end of the year evaluation is all the teachers that will LOVE your stuff.  Here is my link so you can sign up under my name (brownie points) and if you have any questions I'm just an email away.

I know teachers are some of the hardest workers I know, so make a little dough! Thanks to Jenn Jones at
