So after years of hearing my fabulous team plan and say, "I'll just have my kids work on their whiteboards" blah-blah-blah. But inside I was really jealous...
Finally, I went to Lowe's and purchased a whiteboard sheet: 10.99 and also purchased a really cute duck tape from Wal-mart and Wah-Lah! Here's the picture. I am pretty stoked about this because as much as I love all my bloggy girls with all their fab ideas.... I think this is original. But I'm sure someone has done this somewhere.

Your white boards are faulous. How many did you get and what size are they? Did they cut them for you?

Thank you. I have a total of 12, but we miscalculated the size. We thought they would all be 12inx12in. So I have 4 that are 8x 12, which I kindof like better. Yes, they cut them for free at lowes. Just put on your, "pretty please teacher face":)
Oh my goodness! These are so cute! I can't wait to decorate our whiteboards too! Thanks so much for the inspiration! :)

Yay! I'm so glad you like them! You always have amazing ideas too!
I've just made a set of these for my own room, but I'm having a problem-- they don't erase very well! How are yours??
Thanks for your comment. I found that the cheaper brands don't erase as well, however, the expo brand is great. I use mine for vocabulary and reading comprehension. Not as much as my math friends. HOpe that helps:)
I went to Lowe's, and then to Home Depot, and neither had any idea what I was talking about. I even went to Micheal's Arts & Crafts with no luck. I love this idea, but am so bummed!! Any idea's what else I could use, or if it might be called something else?
It's called shower board. That's probably why they didn't know. It's not actually a huge sheet of whiteboard. Hope that helps! Great idea btw!
It's shower wall board - almost any lumber yard/hardware store has them. They work pretty well - at least lasts one year, hopefully more! Great idea to put the duct tape on the edges! I just read that after a while you can try WD-40 on the surface to fill in the pores to erase better. My students bring in an old sock to use as an eraser. Hope this helps!
This is awesome....my boards always get scratched and the ends bent due to handling and stacking them. I taped several of my boards and found that the seem to stack better without scratching....and of course they are way cute!!! Thanks
I have had mine for over four years and they still work great. I have never had any problems with erasing them. I even had some big ones cut which I designed as a birthday board and a place to record group points. They are awesome!
How cute! Whiteboards look awesome!!

I love your idea of framing the boards with duct tape-function and fashion rolled into one classroom theme enhancing job! For cleaning your white boards I have a tip for you! At the Dollar Store you can purchase 6 small "magic erasers" for a dollar. Normally these are used around the home to clean marks off of walls but I found that the white side gets the white boards clean and they are the perfect size for Kinders. I have oodles of good ideas but am always looking for new ones too! 'm a veteran teacher just starting my own blog so if you have a chance, check it out.
